MJ Receives Multiple 2010 ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards

MJ Projects Receive ACEC NH Engineering Excellence Awards

2010 04April ACEC Awards White ParkMJ was recently selected for two Engineering Excellence Awards by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Hampshire (ACEC-NH). MJ's Meredith US 3/NH 25 Corridor Transportation Improvements Study project received accolades in both the "Overall" award category, as well as the "Studies, Research, and Consulting Engineering Services" category. This project involved a collaborative community planning process, consistent with Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) principles in order to provide alternatives to relieve the traffic congestion along Routes 3 and 25 in Meredith, NH. The second winning project was the White Park Restoration project, which received the "Environmental Project Category" award. This project included the use of porous concrete pavement among other sustainable project components for this historically significant park.

McFarland Johnson also Wins an ACEC VT Engineering Excellence Award

MJ also participated in the recent ACEC/VT Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. The Middlebury Rail Spur Environmental Impact Statement project, which involved preparation of an environmental impact statement for proposed freight transportation improvements in Vermont. The project received the "Grand Award" for engineering excellence in the "Studies, Planning, Consulting Engineering Services" category.
