SUNY College at Oneonta Dormitory Renovation - Tobey Hall
Oneonta, NY | DASNY
This project involved renovation of the Tobey Hall Dormitory building at the State University College at Oneonta. Renovations for this $7.5 million project included creating new student activity spaces such as lounges, study spaces, a work-out room and improved laundry areas. Fire alarm system expansion and sprinkler system replacement, as well as plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work was provided throughout this residence hall. This rehabilitation also included a two-story center core addition. Integrating new data and sprinkler systems into this building was challenging due to low floor-to-floor heights. Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) standards and procedures, as well as some minor ADA considerations were required for this four-story, 48,900 square foot facility. McFarland Johnson provided investigative services, preliminary design, final design, bid phase assistance, and construction administration for this project.
